Thank you for your interest in joining us for our 2025 Youth Maker’s Market series. Are you a young innovator with a creative mind and a knack for business? We want YOU to showcase your talents at our upcoming Maker’s Market! Please read the following information closely.
General Information:
Date/Time: May 10th, 2025 - 11:00am to 2:00pm
Location: Barbwire Barbecue Patio 601 E. 10th Street Eudora
Participation:
Children must be 6 to 17 years old and able to run the booth without their adults interacting with the customers AT ALL. Parents can assist when needed, but children must be able to:
Prep and serve food (if food options will be served in the booth space).
Take/fulfill orders, and answer questions,
Take payment and make change.
We welcome children with disabilities or special needs to participate with any necessary parental assistance as needed. Just notify us!
If your child cannot do these above things with minimal help, either pare down the offering or wait for a future date when they are able to do so.
Parent Code of Conduct:
Do not answer questions, take orders, handle food or money. You can assist your child when needed, but CANNOT engage customers directly. This is your child’s business.
Parents CANNOT prepare, cook, or serve food.
Parents are required to remain on the venue premises throughout the duration of the market.
Parents CANNOT take payment. If you choose to use payment apps, teach your child how to use it beforehand.
It’s your responsibility to make sure all adults in your party are aware of and agree to the rules.
Sit in the back of the booth, read a book, and act like you’re not listening! Removing yourself (figuratively speaking) is what makes this an incredible learning experience for your child.
If parents do not adhere to these rules, it may result in their child being ineligible to participate in future events.
Products:
All youth participants must produce original, unique, high quality, and safe items which will bring added value to the Maker’s Market event. All products must be the actual work of the crafter. No commercial items. No imported items. No living animals. No manufactured items. No second hand items shall be resold.
Children may NOT sell goods on behalf of their parents.
Children must have an active role in the acquisition or production of their product.
All applications will be reviewed. If you are unsure if your application will be accepted, please feel free to email your questions to the address at the bottom of this document.
Booths:
All booths are a 10’x10’ space and all belongings must fit into that space.
It is one registration per booth, regardless of how many children sell in it. (You only sell out of one side of the booth.)
Children may sell different products in the same booth.
Children must bring all of their own supplies (table, chairs, canopy, etc.).
Canopies are required for outdoor events and MUST be weighted down.
